People with the same ideologies tend to stick together. Democrats with Democrats, Republicans with Republicans. Each political group having their own ideas and perspectives on a certain issue. This is what the Big Sort is. People who like people with the same ideas as them tend to form their own little cliques and further fortify their perspective. I have seen this in my own life with skiing. I stick with people who ski, and people who ski stick together. This is all great until we meet the deadly snowboarders on the hill who stick together as well. There is this clash in the snow sports where each of our groups make fun on the other. Going back to the political part, Democracy is all based on The Big Sort idea. People who have the same perspective make the majority of the arguments and trump others, or "win". The Big Sort idea is an accurate one, and I always see it coming up in my own life.
